For nearly four hundred years, even since the founding of Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1607, the Southwestern region of the United States has had a rich and varied history. That history is particularly evident in the southwest's architectural styles. The Pueblo styles of Native Americans, house designs brought to the New World by Spanish colonists, and the styles brought by the eventual movement West by American settlers all continue to show themselves in the house plans, interior designs, and color schemes of the Southwest. |
